Army Staff Sgt. Christine M. Moriarty has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The staff sergeant is a civil affairs specialist normally assigned to the 404th Civil Affairs Battalion, Fort Dix, and has served in the military for more than 18 years. A 1987 graduate ofMonmouth Regional High School, Tinton Falls, she is the daughter of Laura F. Moriarty of Eatontown.

Army Pvt. William V. Urbelis, Tinton Falls, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. A 2006 graduate of Kiva High School, Tinton Falls, he is the son of William Urbelis Sr. of Howell and Victoria Ruoff of Tinton Falls.

Army Pvt. William V. Urbelis, son of William Urbelis Sr. of Howell and Victoria Ruoff of Tinton Falls, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values and physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises. Urbelis is a 2006 graduate of Kiva High School, Tinton Falls.
