Cabaret for Life to present 'The Main Event'

Cabaret for Life [CFL], a local nonprofit that raises funds for cancer and HIV/AIDS charities,will present "TheMain Event," an original revue featuring two dozen songs fromgreat Hollywoodmovies performed by a cast of local singers.

The revuewill take place at The Barclay, FifthAvenue in Belmar, on Friday,May 23, and Saturday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $65, which includes dinner and the cabaret show, and can be ordered by calling (877) CFL-TKTS (235-8587) or by sending checks payable to Cabaret for Life Inc. to P.O. The cast includes currentMissNew Jersey, Amy Polumbo, ofHowell; BobAngelini, Ocean; Heather Brown, Rutledge Varley and Kristen Butcher, all Red Bank; Leslie Fornino and Martin Grubman, Monmouth Beach; KJ, New York City; Margaux Mc- Daniel, Spring Lake; Matt Truex, Brielle; and Jessica Vaccaro, Howell.

"TheMain Event" will pay tribute to the songs that became famous as themes to favoritemovies fromthe past six decades, including "As Time Goes By" ("Casablanca"), "Moon River" ("Breakfast at Tiffany's"), and "My Heart Will Go On" ("Titanic").

CFL, founded in 1995, raises funds for HIV/AIDS and cancer support through the production of livemusical theater. Since its inception, CFLhas donated $100,000 to local, state and national charities such as the Jersey Shore University Medical Center FamilyHIV Program, The Center inAsbury Park, and VNACJ Community Services.
