VNA hosts fourth annual Children's Day

Children take part in activities during Children's Day 2007
RED BANK - The Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Hospice is holding its fourth annual Hearts of Remembrance Children's Day: A Celebration of Life 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9.

The free grief support camp is open to children ages 6-12 who have experienced the death of a loved one within the past year. The program includes fun, meaningful and uplifting activities such as crafting, planting, scrapbooking, music therapies, storytelling and a visit from pet therapy dogs. The day's events are designed to encourage children to express their feelings, share memories and just have fun.

Social workers specializing in bereavement counseling, as well as trained volunteers and other hospice professionals, will be available to support and guide the children throughout the day. Parents and guardians are welcome to stay. Supportive counseling and reiki therapy will be available to interested parents and guardians.

Registration is required. For more information, call 732-493-2220.
