Frescos and found objects

"Crow" by Mary Cooper
The Paint Place of Asbury Park will be hosting an exhibit of art work by Betsey Regan of Middletown and Mary Cooper of Fair Haven.

Regan is known for her paintings of animals. She works in a medium she calls modern fresco, a complex process both ancient and innovative. Regan has exhibited at museums and galleries throughout New York and New Jersey and has also received numerous honors including a fellowship from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation.

Cooper works with found objects, using materials of personal and collective memory to create collage and assemblage. Her studies in anthropology and history influence her efforts to interpret the beauty found in common every day cast offs.

The opening reception will be Saturday, Oct. 25, from 4 to 7p.m.

The Paint Place is located at 605 Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park. Hours are: Thursday and Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 7 p.m. For more information, call 732-502-0997.
