Library to host talks, seminars in January

Monmouth County Library Eastern Branch, 1001 Route 35, Shrewsbury, will welcome Tim Burns, author of "Sounds Like Teen Spirit: Stolen Melodies, Ripped-off Riffs, and the Secret History of Rock and Roll," presenting an audiovisual program at 7 p.m. Jan. 6.

The Small Book Club will discuss Dean Bakopoulos' "Please Don't Come Back From the Moon" at 10 a.m. Jan. 13 and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 14. Books may be borrowed from the library.

The seminar "Conversations With UBS: Navigating the Current Market Turmoil" will be presented by UBS Financial Services at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 7 and 22, and 7 p.m. Jan. 15 and 29.

Abir Marcus, M.D., will present "The Psychology of Beauty" at 7 p.m. Jan. 13.

A presentation on transcendental meditation will be held at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 21.

Volunteers from the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) will answer questions on health insurance and Medicare/Medicaid at 10 a.m. Jan. 20. Registration is required, and may be done by calling the Monmouth County Office on Aging at 732-759-6551.
