Free activities slated at Mon. County parks

The Monmouth County Park System has planned free activities during January, beginning with Wood Days noon-2 p.m. Jan. 10 at Historic Longstreet Farm, Longstreet Road, Holmdel. Participants may help farm staff cut wood for the winter.

A blacksmith demonstration will be held 1-3 p.m. Jan. 11 at the farm, and attendees may see what the blacksmith is making in his workshop. "Nature Scenes of Monmouth County," a multimedia art exhibit depicting nature scenes from throughout Monmouth County, creaed by county artists, is displayed through Feb. 22 at HistoricWalnford, Upper Freehold. Park hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
