Joan B. Hanson

Mrs. Hanson, 82, of Fair Haven, died Jan. 15, 2009, at home. She was a homemaker and previously had been an employee of House Beautiful magazine. She was predeceased by her husband, John K. Hanson, in 1991; and two sisters. She is survived by her four children, Kate and her husband Kevin, John and his wife Polly, Mark and his wife Christine, and Timothy and his wife Alida; a sister, Nancy Lawrence; her caregiver and companion, Louise Cherrington; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Jan. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Rumson. Burial will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
