Mr. McDermott, 91, of Tinton Falls, died Jan. 11, 2009, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was a retired chemical engineer at Lederle Laboratories, Pearl River, N.Y. He was predeceased by two sisters, Louise Scanlon and Virginia Gorfain. He is survived by his wife, Winifred McDermott; a son, Philip A. Mc- Dermott III; and a daughter, Patrice McDermott. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Ascension Church, Bradley Beach. Burial was at St. Catharine's Cemetery, Sea Girt. Arrangements were by O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall.
