            Monmouth County Park System will hold free activities during February, beginning with Wood Days from noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 7 at Historic Longstreet Farm, Longstreet Road, Holmdel. Attendees will help Longstreet staff cut wood for the winter.

      Competitors sought for SJV cheering event
            St. John Vianney Regional High School (SJV) will hold its 10th annual cheerleading competition Feb. 22 at the school gymnasium, 540A Line Road, Holmdel. Cheerleading and dance teams from elementary schools, high schools, recreation and all-star groups are invited to attend. Spring floor and professional judges will be used. Vendors are also welcome.

      Blood drive Feb. 7 at Masons Lodge
            New Jersey Blood Services (NJBS), New Brunswick, will conduct a blood drive 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at Masons Navesink Lodge No. 9, 152 Maple Ave., Red Bank. Eligible donors should be age 17 or older, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in generally good health. People over 75 may donate with a doctor's note.

            Monmouth County Reclamation Center, Shafto Road, Tinton Falls, is encouraging residents with old computers, cameras or stereo equipment to recycle the equipment at the center.

      Audubon bird walk at Sandy Hook Feb. 7
            Monmouth County Audubon Society will hold a bird walk 10 a.m. Feb. 7 at Sandy Hook. Attendees should meet at the visitors center. Field trip leader will be Linda Mack, past Audubon president. Birds that may be seen include snow buntings, northern harriers, warblers and long-tailed ducks.
