Free activities at local parks in Feb.

Monmouth County Park System will hold free activities during February, beginning with Wood Days from noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 7 at Historic Longstreet Farm, Longstreet Road, Holmdel. Attendees will help Longstreet staff cut wood for the winter.

A blacksmith demonstration will be 1-3 p.m. Feb. 8.

"Roses are Red, Violets are Blue" will be 1-4 p.m. Feb. 14 at Historic Walnford, Upper Freehold. It will feature 19th century Valentines, and attendees may create a historically inspired card. "Nature Scenes of Monmouth County" featuring nature scenes of Monmouth County by county artists will be exhibited through Feb. 22 at Historic Walnford.
