      'The Lucky Name' fundraiser Feb. 26
            The Newcomers' Club of Rumson, Fair Haven, Little Silver and Shrewsbury will hold its annual "The Lucky Name" 6:30- 10:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at McLoone's Pier House, Long Branch. The fundraiser for Parents of Autistic Children (POAC) will showcase local merchants and their donations. It will include cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, auctions, a 50/50 and grand raffle prize.

      Boating safety classes offered by Flotilla 26
            U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 26 will offer adult boating safety courses 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 14 at Shrewsbury Hose Company No. 1, 783 Broad St.; and 7-10 p.m. March 17, 24 and 31 at Monmouth Beach Cultural Center, 128 Ocean Ave. (students must attend all three classes).

      Emmanuel Baptist marks 75th year
            The Emmanuel Baptist Church of Tinton Falls, Cherry Street, is holding a 75th anniversary celebration March 4-8. Weeknight services will begin at 7 p.m. March 4-7. A celebration banquet will be held at noon March 8 at the Sheraton Eatontown. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Edward Harper of Macedonia Baptist Church of Lakewood.

      Evening with Maya Angelou Feb. 25
            An evening with poet Maya Angelou will be 6 p.m. Feb. 25 at Brookdale Community College's Collins Arena, Lincroft section of Middletown (doors open 5 p.m.). Angelou is a poet, educator, author, actress and historian. Tickets are $10, and $5 for Brookdale staff. Brookdale students receive one ticket free with valid ID.

      Workshop, lunch for nurses Feb. 25 at BCC
            Brookdale Community College (BCC), Lincroft section of Middletown, will host a workshop/luncheon for nurses during National Eating Disorders Awareness Week. The program by the Eating Disorders Program at Monmouth Psychological Associates, Tinton Falls, will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 25.

      HealthSouth offers support groups
            HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Tinton Falls, 2 Centre Plaza, is offering several support groups to the community free of charge. The New Jersey Stroke Activity Center group meets 2-4 p.m. the first and third Wednesday of the month. For more information, call 732-460-6743. The amputee support group meets 1:30-3:30 p.m.

            HABcore, Red Bank, will host a "Gold Rush" fund-raising party 7 p.m. Feb. 19 at The Woman's Club of Red Bank, 164 Broad St. Attendees may bring old, unwanted or broken jewelry — white and yellow gold or platinum— to be assessed by a representative from Ashford & Grace Fine Jewelers, and paid in cash. Pieces, single earrings, broken clasps are OK.
