Joyce Diamond and Brooks Von Arx, both Rumson, dance the tango at a milonga (social dance) that was hosted by Red Bank Tango at Buona Sera restaurant in Red Bank on Feb. 4. The Woman's Club of Little Silver recently sent more than $2,000 worth of international telephone cards for use by wounded troops in Iraq, as its project for 2008. The club sold 50/50 raffle tickets to purchase the cards that were sent to Landstuhl Medical Center, Germany, and a Joint Task Force of Special Forces in Iraq. Due to the success of the effort, the club is going to repeat it and sell 50/50 tickets priced at $2 per ticket or $10 for a book of five. A drawing for the raffle will be held on or about May 7. A Shrove Fat Tuesday dinner will be hosted by Oceanport United Methodist Church, 50 Main St., 4:30-7 p.m. Feb. 24. The cost is $7 for adults, and $4.50 for children younger than age 12; proceeds will benefit the church's maintenance project. For more information, call the church at 732-544-9028.

The Garden Club of Fair Haven has been preparing for its first garden tour and plant sale slated for May 30 (rain date May 31). The event will feature five gardens in Fair Haven and Rumson, and a tour of Fair Haven's bird sanctuary. Perennials from club members will be for sale. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the event. The club's next meeting will be held at noon March 4 at the youth center, and designer Betty Markendorf will present "Elfin Enchantment" and demonstrate miniature and small-design techniques. The Chelsea at Tinton Falls, 1 Hartford Drive, Tinton Falls, will hold a workshop presented by elder-law attorney Thomas Murphy 8:30-10 a.m. Feb. 26.
