YMCA serves all even in tough economy
As our nation, state and local region comes to terms with the significant and serious economic downturn, I wanted to again share The Community YMCA's commitment of serving all regardless of the ability to pay.
In particular, we feel it is so important that families have the opportunity of YMCA participation, fellowship and program opportunities, which support families through our child care, health, wellness, aquatics, mentoring and family counseling programs.
Although there is at times a reluctance to ask for help, our Y Cares financial assistance program is confidential, dignified and easy to access. Forms are available at each of our program centers in Red Bank, Hazlet and Matawan, or simply send an e-mail to me at glaermer@ cymca.org and we will follow up directly with you.
The Community YMCA serves over 20,000 area residents and I am increasingly concerned that we are simply not working hard enough or communicating effectively enough our commitment to providing access to YMCA programs regardless of financial means, and certainly for many during a period of shortterm financial hardship.
Since our founding in 1874, The Community YMCA has been a force for good in our area and proudly served families through a number of societal issues. Today, a new set of problems are calling us to action and we are prepared to help.
