John J. "Bud" Conklin Jr.
Mr. Conklin, 78, of Rumson, and formerly Little Silver, and Colts Neck, died Feb. 4, 2009, at home. He was a senior partner at Conklin, Cahill and Company, New York City, and former governor of the New York Stock Exchange. He was a former member of the Rumson Planning Board, and Borough Council. He was also a former Rumson fire and first aid commissioner. He was predeceased by a sister,Ann; and a son, Jerry, in 2001. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lucille Blanchet Conklin; a son and daughter-in-law, John J. and Jennifer Conklin III of Rumson; six daughters and three sons-in-law, Lucille M. Conklin and Tina Cressent of White Plains, N.Y., Claire and Edward O'Donnell of Mendham, Cynthia Conklin-Hull of Rumson, Suzanne and Thomas Schissler of Fair Haven, and Karen and Eric Conklin-Johnson of Denver; as brother, Francis Conklin of Boonton; a sister, Mary Therese Colando of Colts Neck; and 14 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Cross Church, Rumson. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
