      3-D works a first for art guild

      The Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury is holding its first 3-D exhibit. The show features 84 works in a wide range of mediums, including glass, wood, paper, clay, metal, as well as installation art, multimedia and photo collage. The works of some 50 artists vary widely, embracing traditional, nonrepresentational and abstract pieces.

      Wooden bowl by Scot Shultes Wooden bowl by Scot Shultes The exhibit in the main gallery will run through March 4 during guild open hours, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Thursday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

      The Guild of Creative Art, established in 1960, is a nonprofit with more than 500 members dedicated to advancing excellence in the visual arts through teaching, exhibits, workshops and special events.
