An exhibit of work by commercial art majors at the Red Bank Regional High School (RBR) Visual and Performing Arts Academy will be on display at the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury through April 15.

"A Parade in New Orleans" by Maggie Mazza "A Parade in New Orleans" by Maggie Mazza A special reception will take place on Friday, April 3, from 6 to 8 p.m., at which time the public can meet the student artists responsible for the impressive array of paintings, drawings, photographs and work in other mediums.

"This represents the culmination of four years of study and practice," said RBR commercial art teacher Claudia O'Connor. "Our students learn about many artists and art styles as well as art movements. Throughout their high school career, students spend considerable time experimenting with different techniques and mediums until they find their own artistic voice and expression. We hope the public will come and enjoy the essence of their efforts."

RBR's award-winning VPA Academy accepts students by audition from all over Monmouth County. The program features a visual and performing arts program with commercial art offered as one of seven majors. The VPAAcademy is marking its 25th anniversary this year and will hold a special variety show featuring RBR alumni art professionals at the Count Basie Theatre on May 29.
