Fair Haven — Boynton & Boynton, a locally owned firm of insurance professionals, celebrated its 80th year in business with a food drive for the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

The 80th Anniversary Food Drive was held March 19 to coincide with an annual event the firm hosts for associated business partners, employees and the insurance companies they represent. In addition to 216 pounds of groceries, the firm raised $2,000 at the event and matched it with another $2,000 for a total of $4,000. The funds were raised through donations and a drawing for a 42-inch plasma LG flat-screen TV.

Founded in 1929, Boynton currently has more than 70 employees at its Fair Haven offices and offers a broad spectrum of insurance products for commercial property, liability, professional liability, medical malpractice and personal insurance products.

"Boynton & Boynton has been part of the Monmouth County community for more than 80 years. We have a long tradition of involvement in local charities, and this year our management team felt it was particularly important to give back," said Jay Lynch, president of Boynton & Boynton, an independent insurance agency.
