Registration is open for 'Spotlight on Lyme'

The second annual "Spotlight on Lyme" 5K run and walk to promote awareness of Lyme disease will be held May 17 at Pier Village, Long Branch, during National Lyme Disease Awareness Month. The fee is $30 for adults and $20 for children age 13 and younger.

The run is open to children age 10 and older. Proceeds will benefit research and education projects of the Lyme Disease Association (LDA), and participants are encouraged to obtain pledges to benefit the LDA. Check-in begins at 9 a.m., followed by the 5K at 10 a.m. Entry fee includes a Tshirt. The day will also feature games, face painting, prizes and food. Trophies will be given to the top male and female finishers.
