      Fiber Art X 7

Fiber Art X 7, a group of seven fiber artists, is presenting their third group show "Fiber Form and Function III" at the Middletown Public Library. The show will run through June 29.

"Love Letters Lie" by Beverly Hertler "Love Letters Lie" by Beverly Hertler The seven fiber artists share studio space at the Art Alliance of Monmouth County in Red Bank, where they meet weekly to share ideas, exchange information and support each other's artistic pursuits.

The collaboration, support and inspiration of the gifted artists in this group are apparent in the work of each individual.

Works in the exhibit include Beverly Hertler's quilts and wall hangings, Deborah Tiryung Sidwell's intricately patterned scenes, Pamela Burke's lively collages; Theresa Caracappa's dolls, Sandra Rinehimer Roberts' multimedia creations, Ebba Osborne's unique weavings and Nancy McCarron-Lubesco's work with photographs and embroidery,

The seven had their first group show in June 2006 at the Mitchell Sanborn Gallery in Keyport titled "Fiber, Form and Function." The second group show was held at the Monmouth Beach Cultural Center in November 2007 and was titled "Fiber, Form and Function II."

Personal lives have become entwined with artistic lives so that at any given moment they may be supporting one member through a personal crisis while celebrating the artistic success of another.

The exhibit is on view during library hours: 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 1-5 p.m. Sundays. The exhibit may be closed for other library programs from time to time, so visitors coming from a distance are advised to call ahead to confirm hours: 732-671- 3700, ext. 320.
