Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area will take part in the nationwide Fee-Free Weekend on July 18 and 19 and Aug. 15 and 16. Sandy Hook will eliminate the $10-per-car parking fee on those dates; the park has no entrance fee but charges $10 per car for beach parking.

Visitors are reminded that the Hook has only 5,000 parking spaces and on summer weekends the spaces can fill up during the morning hours. For details, call 732-872-5970.
