Governors' failed policies have been death of N.J.
The failed policies of Govs. James McGreevey and Jon Corzine have been the death of New Jersey's once-stellar position as a home to manufacturing. Regulation after regulation and tax upon tax have driven industry to neighboring states and even abroad, and our middle class has suffered the consequences. Chris Christie's renewable energy initiative is a plan to revitalize New Jersey industry by making our state businessfriendly and actively seeking out renewable energy manufacturers to locate here. This will bring back the better-paying jobs the middle class has traditionally relied upon. It's action by Christie while Corzine continues to just mouth words.
Christie will personally lead a "Choose New Jersey Energy" campaign to change the way our state is viewed by business, and create a "Renew NJ" partnership for action that will offer a one-stop shop for companies considering New Jersey as a manufacturing site. He'll offer tax credits and eliminate the costly and time-consuming need for use variances or zoning changes for solar energy construction. These are the kinds of concrete things that have worked in neighboring states.
Corzine talks a good game, but industry will never return to New Jersey as long as he continues over-regulating and overtaxing. The reality of his policies is record unemployment, worse than New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware. Unlike Corzine, Christie understands that bringing manufacturers to New Jersey brings jobs for the middle class.
Chris Christie gets it.
