Mr. Puryear, 51, of Fair Haven, died July 12, 2009, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He had resided in Red Bank and New York before relocating to Fair Haven. Mr. Puryear was a teacher in the Red Bank school system while pursuing a master's degree. He also acted on various TV soap operas. He is survived by his mother, Rudine Clipper of Fair Haven; his father, Rubin Franklin Puryear Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va; a son, Jonmichael of Fair Haven; two brothers, Vincent of Red Bank and John of Fair Haven; and a sister, Euretta Hale of Virginia Beach. A funeral service was held at Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, Eatontown. Arrangements were by Childs Funeral Home, Red Bank.
