FRANK GALIPO Derek Wilson, of Little Silver, and Alexis Thompson, of Middletown, tend to the strawberry shortcake at the Old-fashioned Strawberry Festival at the First Presbyterian Church of Red Bank on July 5. The festival was followed by a concert of patriotic music, song and singalongs featuring the church's Liberty Choir and Brass. The events are an Independence Day tradition at the Tower Hill church. Sickles Market, 1 Harrison Ave., Little Silver, will host New Jersey Peach & Butterfly Release Day 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Aug. 8. The free event will feature butterflies, an introduction to flowering plants that attract butterflies, a peach grilling demonstration and tasting, face painting, button making and a butterfly activity book. Approximately 90 painted lady butterflies will be released at 4 p.m. The butterflies were brought to Sickles as caterpillars in July and were displayed in the butterfly pavilion.
