Basie annual golf outing Sept. 24
      The Count Basie Theatre will hold its annual golf outing Sept. 24 at Beacon Hill Country Club, Atlantic Highlands. Residents graduate from Fire Academy
      The Monmouth County Fire Academy, Howell, had graduation for its Firefighter I program Aug. 12. Members attended weekend classes and completed 164 hours of course work, and received training in rescue, fire extinguishment, hazardous materials response, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, electrical safety, and care of hoses, ladders and other equipment.

Annual freedom ride slated for Sept. 20
      The annual Rolling Thunder Inc. New Jersey Chapter 2 freedom ride in honor of POW/MIA Recognition Day will be held Sept. 20. Participants will travel from Warinanco Park, Roselle, to the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial, Holmdel. Registration is 8 a.m. and departure is at 11:30 a.m. The event will feature a laying of the wreath.

VSA arts has programs for autistic children
      VSA arts of New Jersey, New Brunswick, has announced its fall program offerings for children ages 3-21 with autism, with registration beginning Sept. 8. Parent/child workshops in the arts for children with autism will be held 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturdays, Sept. 26 through Dec. 5, in New Brunswick. Each workshop meets for one hour per week.

RSVP for Holiday Express Clambake
      The Holiday Express Sunset Clambake will take place 5-9 p.m. Sept. 13 on the beach at McLoone's Pier House, 1 Ocean Ave., Long Branch. Reservations are due by Aug. 28.
