The Northern Monmouth County Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will present the program "Titanic: The Story of a Great Ship" 4-6 p.m. Sept. 13 at Old First Church, 69 Kings Highway, Middletown. The program will be presented by author Charles A. Haas, who will discuss the historical background of the ship, including social history, up to the time of the disaster in April of 1912. A wine and cheese reception at 4 p.m. will precede the presentation. Tickets are $15 in advance, with proceeds to benefit the AAUW Educational Foundation. Jersey Shore Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Church House of the Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury, 352 Sycamore Ave., Shrewsbury. The topic will be "How PFLAG Helps Families." All are welcome to attend, and refreshments will be served. Jersey Shore PFLAG support meetings will continue to be held at 7 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at the above location. The Art Society of Monmouth County will meet from 10:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 16 at the Monmouth Beach Cultural Center, 128 Ocean Ave. Watercolor and collage artist Helen Harris, Toms River, will give a presentation at 11 a.m. Anyone interested in art is welcome to attend. Middletown Ramblers Square Dance Club will hold a square dance open house 7:30-10 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Thompson Park Activity Barn, Route 520, Lincroft section of Middletown. Admission is free, and no dancing experience is needed. The caller will give clear instructions as he "calls" the dance. Singles or couples are welcome, and children must be accompanied by a parent. Refreshments will be provided. The club will offer square dance classes 7:30-9:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Henry Hudson Trail Activity Center, Route 36, Atlantic Highlands.
