Taylor Totland of Tinton Falls is champion of the JGA Jr. Masters that was held Aug. 12-13 at the Seaview Golf Club, Absecon. Her scores of 78 and 81, for a total of 159, gave her first place in the Girls 19 and Under division. She is beginning her freshman year at Red Bank Catholic High School.

Nicole Totland of Tinton Falls, a student at St. James School in Red Bank, was tied for fifth place with a score of 207.

The event is a nationally ranked two-day junior golf tournament, the first of the 2009 JGA Tour calendar.

Monmouth University Athletics is now selling season tickets and new MAC Packs for the men's and women's basketball seasons, currently the only way to get tickets for games in the new Multi-Purpose Activity Center, opening this fall on the campus of Monmouth University in West Long Branch.

Ordering now guarantees seats for the arena-opener on Nov. 13, when the men's team hosts coach Isiah Thomas and Florida International University or for the Seton Hall game Nov. 15. Individuals who purchase season tickets before Oct. 1 will have the opportunity to select their seats by joining Monmouth Athletics for Seat Selection Day Oct. 16 and 17. MAC "Five" Packs offer fans the opportunity to see some of what promise to be the most exciting games, including the FIU opener and the Seton Hall game. The U11 Girls (1998-99) NJX Milan soccer team seeks field players and a goalie to join a group of girls who love the game. The team is professionally trained and coached, with home games and training at Cross Farms Park in Holmdel. Milan will play in MOSA, JAGS and will take part in the NJ State Cup. Monmouth Women's Basketball League, a competitive/recreational league, is looking for individual players and teams for the fall/winter 2009-10 season. All games are played Sunday night at the Salvation Army Community Center gym in Red Bank October through March. All players must be 18 years old by Oct. 1, 2009.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth County will hold its third annual Beach Volleyball Tournament from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 20 at Convention Hall Beach in Asbury park. Each team will consist of 6-8 players competing in a fun-filled day of beach volleyball. Team members will each be asked to raise a minimum of $75 using a provided pledge sheet. All proceeds will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth County. The day will include food, beverages, and music by radio station 95.9 The WRAT. Prizes will be awarded to the person earning the highest pledge amount and to the tournament winners.
