Mayor Maria Fernandes and Councilman Dina Long (far right) made the presentation. The Board of Education was dissolved after the borough school district was merged with Oceanport's. The Woman's Club of Little Silver resumed its fall schedule with a supper hosted by Jean and Ilene Berich, and Kathy Doty, and catered by Gianna's, Little Silver. Three new members were welcomed during the supper. Projects and fundraisers discussed were Ronald McDonald House, Long Branch, for which donations of food for the families of terminally ill children will be delivered. The Garden Club of Fair Haven will meet at noon Oct. 7 at the Fair Haven Youth Center. Bruce Crawford, director of Rutgers Gardens, will give a brief history of the gardens at Holly House, home to the Garden Club of New Jersey and located on Rutgers' East Brunswick campus. His program will include a slide show on "Hydrangeas — Great Plants for Great Gardens," and "Photography in the Garden." All are welcome to attend. For more information, call 732 530-3642.

The Seniors of Little Silver will hold an Octoberfest singalong 1 p.m. Oct. 27 at their clubhouse on Church Street. The Happy Tones, Eddie Zee and Walter, will provide entertainment reminiscent of the music they played at the Hofbrau Haus. Desserts and beverages will be served. A tap dance group, the Calendar Girls, will perform at the group's annual holiday lunch Dec. 15, featuring musical entertainment by students at Markham Place School. The Fair Haven PTA is seeking local vendors for its third annual holiday craft fair 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 14 at Knollwood School, Fair Haven. Vendors or owners of home-based businesses featuring jewelry, crafts, toys, and holiday gifts are encouraged to take part. The fee is $50 per vendor for a 6-foot spot; 6-foot tables may be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis for an additional $15 each. Set-up begins at 9 a.m. Admission is free. The Red Bank area chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society will perform 1 p.m. Sept. 27 at Harvest Day at Longstreet Farm, Longstreet Road, Holmdel. The 40- man chorus and featured quartets will perform songs in four-part harmony. The Chorus invites male singers of all ages and voice parts to attend open rehearsals 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at Red Bank Middle School, Harding Road, Red Bank.
