      Doris J. Carotenuto
            Mrs. Carotenuto, 84, of Red Bank, died Oct. 3, 2009. During World War II, she was a secretary for the commanding general at Fort Sheridan, Ill. Mrs. Carotenuto is survived by her husband of 63 years, Samuel Carotenuto; a daughter, Linda Steel; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Oct. 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

      Kevork S. Hovnanian
            Mr. Hovnanian, 86, of Rumson, died Sept. 24, 2009. He was a co-founder and chairman of the board of Hovnanian Enterprises, Red Bank. He received several honors, such as Harvard University's Dively Award and the 1993 Ellis IslandMedal of Honor, and was named Man of the Year by the New Jersey Council for Christians and Jews.       Robert I. Nolan
            Mr. Nolan, 86, of Red Bank, died Sept. 27, 2009. He was a member of the technical staff at Bell Laboratories, New York City, and later Holmdel, for 44 years, retiring in 1985. He was predeceased by his wife, Juta Krünwald, in 1995; and two brothers, Frank and Jack Nolan.

      Jean Botkin Duncan
            Mrs. Duncan, 75, of Little Silver, died Sept. 23, 2009, as a result of injuries from an accident in May. She is survived by her husband, William; a sister, Suzanne Botkin of Vermont; a brother, James Botkin of Massachusetts; three daughters, Julia Borill of Virginia, Elizabeth Diehl of Maryland, Susan Judge of Little Silver; and eight grandchildren.

      William E. "Buck" Frechette
            Mr. Frechette, 89, of Eatontown, died Sept. 18, 2009, at home. He was freight and lighterage agent, manager of Grand Central Station ticket sales, and superintendent of marine operations in New York harbor at New York Central, Penn Central and Conrail railroads, Weehawken, for 38 years. Prior to that, he was a freight agent at the Boston & Albany Railroad.

      John P. Brennan III
            Mr. Brennan, 66, of Rumson, died Sept. 27, 2009, at St. Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was employed during retirement at the Monmouth County Park System, Lincroft section of Middletown, Rumson boat ramp, and Cecom, Tinton Falls, until its closure. Prior to that, he was a detective for the Holmdel Township Police Department.

            Mr. Jones, 79, of Middletown, died Sept. 27, 2009, at home. He resided in Ellicott City, Md., prior to relocating to Middletown 40 years ago. He was a retired employee at AT&T, New York City. Prior to that, he was employed at Western Electric, Baltimore, Md.
