Mrs. Carotenuto, 84, of Red Bank, died Oct. 3, 2009. During World War II, she was a secretary for the commanding general at Fort Sheridan, Ill. Mrs. Carotenuto is survived by her husband of 63 years, Samuel Carotenuto; a daughter, Linda Steel; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
