Monmouth Conservatory of Music hosts concerts
RED BANK — The Monmouth Conservatory of Music (MCM) will open another season of free professional classical music concerts featuring faculty and guest artists, beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, with a piano performance by Vladislav Kovalsky, executive/artistic director of MCM.
Kovalsky is an internationally known concert pianist and will perform a program featuring works for piano by Haydn, Chopin, Schumann and local composer Gilman Collier. On Saturday, Oct. 17, at 4 p.m., pianist Julia Muench will perform with guest artist Joel DeWitt on violin. Muench is an accomplished pianist and composer and an MCM faculty member. DeWitt attended Eastman School of Music and is a graduate of Juilliard. A founding member of the Corialis Trio, he has performed frequently with that trio as well as with the N.J.
New Philharmonic, the Metro Lyric Opera Company, and other classical orchestras. Muench and DeWitt will perform a program of works by Mozart, Brahms, Poulenc and Saint-Saens.
The Monmouth Conservatory of Music is celebrating its 45th year as a nonprofit community music school devoted to excellence in classical music education and performance.
As part of MCM's artistic mission of outreach to the community, concerts are free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated to help support the costs of these concerts.
