Mon. Conservatory of Music slates October concerts
      RED BANK — The Monmouth Conservatory of Music (MCM) will present another season of free professional classical music concerts featuring faculty and guest artists. On Saturday, Oct. 17, at 4 p.m., pianist Julia Muench will perform with guest artist Joel DeWitt on violin. Muench is an accomplished pianist and composer and an MCM faculty member.

Trick or Trot race to benefit SPCA Oct. 25
      Jersey Shore Running Club (JSRC) will host the Trick or Trot 4-Mile Race and Kids Race to benefit the Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Oct. 25 at Seven Presidents Park, Long Branch. Registration will start at 9:30 a.m. at the Windmill Restaurant, Ocean Avenue, Long Branch. The kids' races begin at 10:30 a.m.

Lighthouse Challenge slated for Oct. 17, 18
      The 10th anniversary New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge will take place 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 17 and 18 at 11 landbased lighthouses, and two first-order Fresnel lenses, Barnegat Light lens, and Cape May Light lens. The challenge ranges from Sandy Hook to Cape May.

L.S. seniors to help families in need
      The Seniors of Little Silver will meet at 1 p.m. Nov. 17 at the clubhouse, 111 Church St. The group will welcome the Calendar Girls tap dancing troupe. Desserts and beverages will be served. Annual dues are $10 per year and are payable at this time.

      Join the Monmouth County Audubon Society on Oct. 17 for an autumn bird walk to watch for the annual migration of raptors and songbirds along the Atlantic Flyway.
