More than 300 attended Oktoberfest and raised $4,000 for the educational programs of the school, which includes the area's only German-language multimedia library that is also open to the general public. The Shrewsbury Players are performing in "A Streetcar Named Desire" through Oct. 24 at the Presbyterian Church House, 352 Sycamore Ave., Shrewsbury. Oceanic Free Library, 109 Avenue of Two Rivers, Rumson, is displaying African wooden jewelry by Nancy Hagerman and paintings by Rita Herzfeld and Peter Arakawa during November. During December, oils by Fabio Alvaro and jewelry by Deborah T. Sidwell will be displayed. The works are available for purchase.
