Nicholas J. Caivano Mr. Caivano, 78, of Shrewsbury, died suddenly at home Nov. 1, 2009. He was an accomplished painter and sculptor, and created the sculpture of St. Anthony in the prayer garden at his parish, St. Anthony of Padua, Red Bank. Mr. Caivano was an art teacher and professor for more than 40 years, most recently at Georgian Court University, Lakewood. He served with the U.S. Army from 1953- 61. He is predeceased by a son, Nicholas J. Jr.; six brothers, Samuel, Anthony, Joseph, Kenneth, Rocco and Daniel; and a sister, Frances Ricci. Surviving are his wife, Lois Mustillo Caivano; a son, Philip; a daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and David Wilson; four sisters, Angelina Ramos, Anna DeCosimo, Felice Cohen and Margaret Ponturiero; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment followed at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to the Guild of Creative Arts, 620 Broad St., Shrewsbury, NJ 07702-4117. |
