Bands to rock Pony, aid Samaritan Center

Greater Media wants to fuel the holiday spirit by providing good music and a way to help the hungry at Greater Media's Good Samaritan Holiday Bash to be held Dec. 13 at the Stone Pony, 913 Ocean Ave., Asbury Park.

Proceeds and nonperishable food donationswill benefit the Samaritan Center, a food pantry headquartered in Manalapan that has been helping families from Englishtown, Millstone Township, Manalapan and Marlboro for 25 years.

The Samaritan Center, which is totally dependent on the generosity of others to keep it running, has been struggling to keep its shelves stocked due to an increase in the number of families in need.

The Dec. 13 event at the Stone Pony will feature The Reveling, with drummer Jay Weinberg, just back from touring with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, plus popular bands Locksley, Radiant Illusion, Hollywood Help, Lunch Hour Six Pack and Almost There, and vocalists Lauriana Mae, Jackie Hlavenka and Casey Rochelle.

DJ Sean McCaffrey will be the master of ceremonies for the event.

Sponsorship opportunities are available. The A&P family of stores has pledged its support to the benefit.

All are welcome to be entertained while helping others. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 13. Admission is $10 plus at least one nonperishable food donation.

A ticket for a chance to win valuable door prize gifts will be provided for each item donated— bring more food, get more chances to win.
