A different kind of gallery opens
by Susan Walsh McLean The Shore Women's Abstract Gallery (SWAG) is a new space designed to exhibit the works of eight Shore-area abstract artists and to serve as a venue for members of SWAG.
The gallery space is located in The Shoppes at the Arcade, 658 Cookman Ave. Working as a cooperative, SWAG's artists will present changing monthly exhibitions featuring original artwork at reasonable prices. Rental and installation services will also be available.
Events at SWAG will include gatherings and activities related to member's diverse businesses along with gallery opening receptions and activities.
The SWAG artists are Sheilagh Casey of Rumson, Janet Esposito of Morganville, Mercedes Farrugia of Freehold, Lorraine Madsen of Wall, Peggy Tyrrell Masse of Monmouth Beach, Susan Walsh McLean of Spring Lake Heights, Medy Quiroz of Red Bank, and Despina Statelova of Brick.
Shore Women is an association of women entrepreneurs who provide a diverse range of products and services. Their website is www.shorewomen.com.
