The gallery will also showcase Philadelphia-based encaustic artist Lorraine Glessner.

The opening reception will also be a benefit for the nonprofit Where Peace Lives (www.wherepeacelives.org), whose mission is conflict resolution and mediation with children worldwide.

The culminating piece of their peace mission is to have the children create large murals on canvas reflecting their ideas of peace, which are then traded with various cultures the world over. Reproductions of these murals made by children in Uganda and Peru will be on display on Dec. 17. Ten percent of all sales for the evening will go to Where Peace Lives.
