The Children's Entertainment Series will hold auditions for youngsters between the ages of 10 and 18 for a performance of "Guys and Dolls Junior" 7-9 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Middletown Arts Center located on Church Street, next to the train station in Middletown. The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra's Greater Newark Youth Orchestras (GNYO) will hold auditions for viola, cello, bass, bassoon, French horn, trombone and tuba players on Jan. 9. Acceptance into the GNYO program is based on audition requirements that demonstrate ability and the orchestras' instrumental needs. GNYO is open to New Jersey middle- and highschool students. Auditions will be held at Rutgers-Newark University in Bradley Hall, located at 110 Warren Street in Newark. Applications are due by Dec. 24. Auditions for all orchestral instruments for the 2010-11 seasons will be held in May and September.
