Trains, crafts at Monmouth Museum
MIDDLETOWN — The Monmouth Museum's annual holiday exhibition explores a culinary theme this year with trees and trimmings decorated by local garden clubs and the Friends of the Museum.
The museum's annual Holiday Exhibit will run through Jan. 3.
The annual display of O Scale model trains celebrates New Jersey and travels from the mountains to the seashore through farmlands and villages while the larger G Scale trains meander through a wintry, treefilled landscape. Music, stories, culinary crafts and a sampling of confections are scheduled special events.
All holiday activities are on Sundays from 2-3 p.m. and are free with paid admission.
"Who Says You Can't Play With Your Food?," a craft activities session on Sunday, Dec. 20, will teach how to make interesting crafts with food items.
The Monmouth Museum is located on the Brookdale Community College Campus in Lincroft. Admission is $7, members, Brookdale students and staff, and children under age 2 are free. Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sundays: 1 to 5 p.m. For additional information, call the museum at 732-747-2266, or visit www.monmouthmuseum. org.
