A good deed is its own reward
      There's nothing like a snowstorm to bring out the best in folks. On the most bitter, wintry day of the year, my heart is warmed by the goodwill of some Fair Haven boys. This morning, my 16-year-old neighbor insisted on helping us dig out from the biggest snow dumping of the season.

      (Open letter to U.S. congressmen) There are about 20 million U.S. military veterans ages 20-90 in the U.S.A. About 500,000 of them are homeless, and who knows how many are unemployed. Congress should consider making surplus government housing available to homeless veterans.
