Donovan's Reef in Sea Bright is looking for individuals and/or teams to join its co-ed beach volleyball league on Wednesday and Thursday nights. All ability levels are welcome. Participants must be 21 years or older. Contact Scott at 908-461-8946 for more information.

The 20th annual Sandy Hook Foundation Golf Outing will be held May 4 at the Beacon Hill Country Club in Atlantic Highlands. The event features contests for closest to the pin, longest drive, straightest drive and putting, Pot of Gold, a hole-in-one challenge and a super 50/50 drawing. Golf begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. for the 18-hole, best-ball of four team competition. The fee is $299 per player and includes lunch, golf and cart, use of the practice area and locker room, a two-hour open bar cocktail reception and awards ceremonywith endless hors d'oeuvres and carving station. Sponsorships are available. Golfers and sponsors can register and make event donations online through the foundation's web site at www.sandyhookfoundationnj.org. The sixth annual Spring Into Summer 5K run/walk presented by St. Mary's Athletic Association and Allstate will be held 8:30 a.m. May 16 at Mater Dei High School, Middletown. A 1-mile open run and kids races for ages 4-12 will be offered. Awards, raffles and a barbecue will be provided for all runners and their families. Early registration, good until May 9, is $17 per person for the 5K/1 mile, $12 for kids races, and $50 for a family. New Jersey Race Club Triple Crown Ocean Mile Series schedule is as follows: June 27, Asbury Park Ocean Mile; July 11, Sea Bright Ocean Mile; and Aug. 16, the Belmar Ocean Mile. The 2009 Greyhound Basketball camps will be held at Moravian College, Bethlehem, Pa. A day and overnight camp for boys ages 8- 18 will run July 12-16. The New Jersey Cynder will hold its annual tryout/evaluation session for prospective football players over the age of 18 at 7 a.m. May 17 at Westside Park in Newark. The Cynder play in the Big North East Football Federation (www.bneff.com), an AA football league headquartered in Mount Vernon, N.Y. The tryout will include a 40-yard dash, short-shuttle run, L-drill and various other positional drills.
