'90 and Looking Forward'
The art of ClaraGee reflects nine decades of examining the question "What if?" The end result, she says, is a mind that tries to be totally open to limitless possibilities. ClaraGee's mixed media exhibit includes ink, gouache, collage, watercolor and printmaking techniques. Her signature touch is to create unusual textures, like string glued to cardboard, inked to create a print. Lace doilies or torn bits of paper are also employed. Her work is often infused with the ideal of "Love Thy Neighbor," a lifelong value that she embraces. She has exhibited her work hundreds of times in area galleries. A charter member of the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury, she is a former art teacher at the Colony Surf Club in Elberon, and privately in her Elberon studio.
The JCC is located at 100 Grant Ave., Deal Park. Gallery hours are Monday- Thursday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
