Layli Whyte, communications director for the 12th District Legislative Office in Red Bank, was one of the volunteers who helped clear debris from a gully behind a convenience store on E. Front Street in Red Bank June 27. The cleanup was a community event organized by 12th District legislators and the Borough of Red Bank.
Jersey Shore Premium Outlets, Tinton Falls, will host the Summer Music Concert Series beginning July 4 with the Gregg Carpenter Band. The Mayor's Players will perform July 5; Ken Shiles Band on July 11; The Logjammers, July 18; and Jeremy Grenhart Band, July 25. A benefit event for the NJ Center for the Healing Arts, Fair Haven, will take place 7:30 p.m. July 11 at Presbyterian Church House, Shrewsbury. Featured will be the four-women group Queen of Hearts with local performer Bethanne Clayton. The event will also feature a combination gift and silent auction. Tables are available at $15 for new-item vendor tables, and $10 for used-item tables. A table is included in the price. Shenanigans at the Shadowbrook Stable, a murder mystery benefit, will be 7-11 p.m. July 18 at 25 Shadowbrook Road, Shrewsbury. The benefit is for Monmouth Museum, Lincroft section of Middletown, and features a limited number of choice parts for attendees to fill, various foods and drinks. Cost is $150 per person for super sleuths or a main part custom-written character, $100 for daring detectives or a minor part, and $75 for amateur investigators who may take part or party during the evening's activities. The Boardwalk Relay Against Hunger to benefit the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties will take place Sept. 26 on the boardwalk in Asbury Park. Check-in is 7:30 a.m., followed by the run 8:30 a.m. Teams of one- to three-individuals will run in three legs of 5 kilometers for a total distance of 15 kilometers.
