Register for Kortney's Challenge by Aug. 21
      The Kortney Rose Foundation (KRF) will host the fourth annual Kortney's Challenge Two-Mile Fun Walk/Run on Aug. 30 at Monmouth Park, Oceanport. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., and the race will start at 10 a.m. Individuals may preregister by Aug. 21 or register on the day of the race.

Holiday Express golf classic July 20
      The 2009 Holiday Express Golf Classic will be July 20, with registration at 7 a.m. and shotgun start 8 a.m. The fundraiser will be at the Manasquan River Golf Club, Brielle. The $425 cost includes greens fees, cart, caddie, lunch, cocktails and dinner. A ladies nine-hole option is $300.

Skin cancer screenings at beaches July 25
      The Monmouth Cancer Coalition will hold "Choose Your Cover" skin cancer screenings to adults age 18 and older 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 25 at local beaches (rain date July 26).

Blood drive at local Red Cross on July 15
      American Red Cross Jersey Coast Chapter, 1540 W. Park Ave., Tinton Falls, will hold a blood drive 2-7:30 p.m. July 15. Slumps in blood donations are typical from May through September as donors become busy with summer activities and may overlook donating blood.
