The Red Bank Regional Parent Teacher Organization will hold a Ladies Night Out at the Shadowbrook, Shrewsbury, 7-10 p.m. Feb. 4. The evening, which is themed “Winter Wonderland,” will feature dinner with dessert and a cash bar. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased by calling 732-741-5223.

A parent education program, “A Love of Learning: What a Montessori Education Can Do for Your Child,” will be held 7-8:30 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Vincent S. Mastro Montessori Academy, 36 Birch Ave., Little Silver. Elizabeth Bradbury, the school’s director and a Montessori educator for more than 25 years, will present the program. Monmouth Symphony Orchestra will present “Italian Opera Afternoon” 3 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Count Basie Theatre, 99 Monmouth St., Red Bank. A preconcert talk about the event will be held at 2:15 p.m. The concert will be performed by Victoria Cannizzo, soprano, and Brian Cheney, tenor. A “Boating Basics” course will be offered 6:30-9:30 p.m. Feb. 8 and 10 by N.J. Boating Safety Classes at Brandywine Assisted Living Facility at The Sycamore, 5 Meridian Way, Shrewsbury. The two-evening course meets the needs of boaters and personal watercraft (PWC) operators for a basic overview of boat and PWC operation, while meeting the new state requirements for boating safety education certification. As of June 2009, all boaters must have the N.J. Boating Safety Certificate or face the possibility of a minimum fine of $150. The $65 fee covers the cost of the course and all materials. The Chelsea at Tinton Falls, 1 Hartford Drive, Tinton Falls, will host a Longaberger basket and pottery sale to benefit earthquake victims in Haiti 4-6 p.m. Feb. 10. The public is invited to shop, enjoy wine and cheese, and enter a raffle for door prizes. Twenty-five percent of sales will benefit HOPE (Haitian Orphanage that Provides and Educates), www.haitihope.org.
