A “Boating Basics” course will be offered 6:30-9:30 p.m. Feb. 8 and 10 by N.J. Boating Safety Classes at Brandywine Assisted Living Facility at The Sycamore, 5 Meridian Way, Shrewsbury. The two-evening course meets the needs of boaters and personal watercraft (PWC) operators for a basic overview of boat and PWC operation, while meeting the new state requirements for boating safety education certification. As of June 2009, all boaters must have the N.J. Boating Safety Certificate or face the possibility of a minimum fine of $150. The $65 fee covers the cost of the course and all materials.
