Theodore W. Lauer Mr. Lauer, 79, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Jan. 21, 2010, at home. He was a selfemployed professional land surveyor for 30 years, retiring in 1998. Mr. Lauer excelled at sports in college and high school, and was named to both the Potomac State College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009, and Middletown (Leonardo) High School Lion Hall of Fame in 1990. He was predeceased by a brother, Frederick “Spike” Lauer, during military service in World War II; and two sisters, Gussie Scarpa and Betty Harrell. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Josephine Pedota Lauer; a son and daughter-in-law, Theodore W. and Jan Lauer Jr. of Acworth, Ga.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Irene and Walter Reppy of Farmingdale, Mary Jo Lauer of Belford, and Patty Lauer of Powder Springs, Ga; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Ursula Lauer of the Leonardo section of Middletown; three sisters, Caroline Letts of Leonardo; Millie Curley of Leesburg, Fla., and Marie Golden of Red Bank; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary’s Chapel, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F.
