PTA slates ‘My Fair Haven: A Celebration of Community’

FAIR HAVEN — The Fair Haven PTA will host its 26th annual luncheon Saturday, March 13, at the Holiday Inn in Tinton Falls.

This year’s theme is “My Fair Haven: A Celebration of Community.” This event is one of the key fundraisers for the Fair Haven school system and draws approximately 300 community members each year, according to a press release from the PTA. Doors will open at 10 a.m.

To further involve the community, local artists were asked to submit original works representing their ideas for “My Fair Haven.” An acrylic painting by Quinn Nolan, a third-grader at Sickles School, was chosen for the luncheon poster. His submission is a view of the Fair Haven dock, a place where he loves to spend time fishing and crabbing.

The luncheon will also feature a chance auction with approximately 120 baskets of items donated by more than 100 local businesses. Fair Haven parents and school staff members also contribute one-of-a-kind items. Lucky winners will go home with gift certificates from local restaurants, jewelry, sports tickets, toys, music lessons, dresses and other apparel, home décor items and much more.

Other chances to win before and at the event include a super 50/50 raffle, this year with multiple ticket discounts. There will be a chance to win one of more than 10 door prizes and giveaways throughout the event, plus the grand prize raffle of a family vacation to a log cabin in Montana located near Yellowstone National Park.

The proceeds from the luncheon are used to support the educational programs in the Fair Haven school system, specifically Sickles and Knollwood schools. Tickets to “My Fair Haven: A Celebration of Community” are $45 and can be reserved by sending a check made out to the Fair Haven PTA to P.O. Box 6392, Fair Haven, N.J. 07704.
