‘Keep An Eye Out” for a “Brainstorm” as 16 area high school art students showcase their “True Colors.” Check out the exhibition on view in the CVA Gallery as part of the Monmouth County Arts Council’s Teen Arts Festival, which takes place March 18 and 19 at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft. This exhibition is on view through March 26.

“Racking My Brains” by Beau Bernardo of Rumson-Fair Haven High School We all use figures of speech but conjure our own images as to what each one evokes. After viewing this show, the image in your mind’s eye might be forever changed.

This is a delightfully unpredictable show. Students share their personal interpretations of phrases we all use. Some of these artworks might reveal a “Wild Woman Within,” as they appear “Face-to-Face.” Others conjure what it feels to be “Moonstruck,” “Climbing the Walls,” “Getting a Leg Up,” or being “Down in the Dumps.” What did you say? I can’t hear you, “Cat Got Your Tongue?”
