ArtVentures at the Oyster Point

Madly in Bloom” Madly in Bloom” Stop by the Oyster Point Hotel’s Oyster Lounge, at 146 Bodman Place, Red Bank, any Thursday evening during June from 6-8 p.m. and meet ArtVentures artist Edy Ottesen, who will be there to greet you and show you around art on exhibit, which includes several of her paintings.

Ottesen is a founding member of ArtVentures, which is celebrating its first anniversary this month. She and six other women artists formed the group in 2009. The art ranging from representational to abstract and fiber art is showcased by the group in various settings and sold directly by the artists at affordable prices.

Artists include Tyrrell “Peggy” Masse of Monmouth Beach, Gerda Liebmann of Red Bank, Leona Tennebruso-Shultes of Middletown, Maggie Simplot of Holmdel, Annette Margulies of Long Branch, Ottesen, formerly of Little Silver and currently of Monroe, and Lise Kusner of Wall Township.

Night Lights” Night Lights” During the past inaugural, the group had two by-invitation showcases, a group exhibition in Jersey City/Hoboken, three solo exhibitions in Red Bank and has a long-term revolving exhibition with a professional business group in Matawan.

The current ArtVentures exhibition at the Oyster Point Hotel runs through June 30. Ottesen will donate 25 percent of her sales to charitable organizations of the buyer’s choosing. See the website www.artventures.us with links to each of the artists.
