      R.B. Elks hosting Batter Up Contest
            RED BANK — Red Bank Elks Lodge No. 233 is sponsoring a Batter Up Contest noon-3 p.m. Saturday, June 19. The contest, which is free to all players, will be held at East Side Park on Harrison Avenue in Red Bank. There will be five youth groups, ages 5 to 15, and all levels of baseball, t-ball and softball players, including specialneeds children.

      Scholarship offered to library students
            The Helen R. Shultz Scholarship Committee has established the $1,500 Helen R. Shultz Scholarship for the 2010-11 academic year. Candidates must live in West Long Branch or Monmouth County and be accepted into a library science or paraprofessional library program by July 1.
