In September, the National Merit Scholarship Program released the names of 16,000 semifinalists and commended scholars who were selected out of the 1.5 million students who took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School announced that seven of its students were selected as commended scholars and three students, Raymond Binaco, Kristine Harjes and David Robbins, earned semifinalist designation.

The National Merit Scholarship Program notified the school that all three of the semifinalists advanced to finalist standing in the competition. These students were in consideration to win National Merit Scholarships.
