Canterbury Fair set for June 19

RUMSON — An annual start-ofsummer tradition continues on June 19 when St. George’s-by-the-River hosts the annual Canterbury Fair, rain or shine.

This truly old-fashioned fair, which will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., appeals to all age groups. Items for sale include jewelry, sporting goods, plants and flowers, thousands of books for all ages, as well as the traditional, highly anticipated “white elephant” sale. Treasures can also be found at the Shabby Chic display, and an array of items will be up for bid at the silent auction tent.

An entire area is dedicated to children’s fun. There will be a petting zoo, clown, balloons, cotton candy, face painting, lots of games where the little ones can win prizes, and a children’s chance auction.

Food for all tastes will be available, ranging from specialties on the outdoor grill to iced tea and baked goods at the Tea Garden or the Lobster Salad Luncheon.

Proceeds support local outreach and charitable organizations.

For more information, call St. George’s Parish office at 732-842-0596, or visit www.stgeorgesrumson.org for directions.
